Here at Thunderarms we have developed a firearms training program for all skill levels. We are keeping the class size small in order to maintain that personal relationship (1 on 1 or 1 on 2). Our prices or going to be kept reasonable because here at Thunderarms we have a deep commitment to promote safe gun practices and promote the shooting sports.

What you'll need to bring with you to the range
A serviceable handgun or carbine (at least .22 cal.) Basic courses may bring a .22
A quality holster (needed for advanced courses only)
100 rounds of quality ammo. (no reloads please)
Ear and eye protection
A hat or headcover
Lace up footwear that covers toes
comfortable clothing
Water or Gatoraid is recommended

Texas License to Carry
This course gives Texans the legal right to carry a handgun. Upon completion the student will be given the CHL-100 document to be submitted with other forms as per the Texas DPS. After you have submitted the licensing fee to the state as well as fingerprints and your DPS online application and your CHL-100 form you will receive your license. The initial licenses are good for four years with renewals good f0r five years.
NRA Basic Pistol
This course is an 8 hour course with the majority of it in a classroom setting and a range session at the end. This course is designed for the novice shooter interested in learning more about the shooting sports and firearms in general.
This course is an NRA course and will give you the NRA basic pistol course certification.
NRA First Steps Pistol
This is a condensed version of the NRA Basic Pistol Course. This course is approximately 3 hours in length.
NRA Basic Rifle
This course is an 8 hour course with the majority of it in a classroom setting with a range session at the end. Novice and beginner students will learn the intricacies of rifle shooting in an NRA sanctioned class.
At the end of the class you will be awarded the NRA Basic Rifle Course certification.
NRA First Steps Rifle
As with the First Steps Pistol Course this is a condensed version of the Basic Rifle Course. This course is approximately 3 hours in length.

Basic Handgun
New to shooting? Never handled and firearm before and would like to learn? This is the course for you. During the 2 hour course we will focus on the fundamentals of shooting and firearm safety.
- Review the 4 basic rules of gun safety
- Maintenance of the firearm
- Use of the isosceles stance
- Proper sight alingment
- Trigger control
- Recoil control
Intermediate Handgun
Already familier with your handgun but want to take shooting to the next level? This course may be for you. This is a 2 hour course and we will be focusing on
- Reviewing range rules and safty
- Use of the Weaver stance
- Trigger control when conducting multiple shots
- Shot placement
- Proper footwork when engaging targets
- Multiple shots on multiple targets at fixed and varied distances
Advanced Handgun
Very comfortable with shooting and would like to challenge yourself? Use your gun for self defense and maybe have a CCW or thinking of getting one? This course is for you. During this 2 hour course we will focus on
- Reviewing range safty rules
- Drawing from concealment
- Engaging multiple targets
- Tacticle shot placement on multiple targets
- Firing while moving
- Firing from cover
- Most of the stages we will be utilizing the shot timer
Basic Carbine
Just picked up that AR15 and can't wait to get it to the range? This course will give you the basics to get the most out of your new sporting rifle. During this 2 hour course we will cover
- The four basic rules of gun safty
- Proper maintenence as well as disasembly and re-asembly
- Basic trigger control
- Proper Sight alignment
- Proper stance
- Multiple shots while staying of target (that is after all what this thing was designed for).
